Differential Scanning Fluorimetry: CFX96 Touch Real-Time PCR Detection System (Bio-Rad)

PCR.jpg

The CFX96 Touch System is a powerful, precise and flexible real-time PCR detection system. The six-channel (five colors and one FRET channel) real-time PCR instrument combines advanced optical technology with precise temperature control to deliver sensitive, reliable detection for singlexplex or multiplex reactions.

Commonly, this system is used for Differential Scanning Fluorimetry experiment (DSF, also known as Protein Thermo Shift Assay) to monitor protein denaturation by measuring changes in fluorescence of a dye (e.g. Sypro Orange) that binds preferentially to unfolded protein. Other than that, CFX96 can also be used for realtime
PCR.

If you are interested in using the equipment or require assistant and training, please kindly contact Dr. Simon Lattmann (SLattmann@ntu.edu.sg).
