The NTU Institute of Structural Biology (NISB) will serve as the main platform for the pursuit of research projects in structural biology and will incorporate all structural biology methods such as X-ray crystallography, nuclear magnetic resonance and electron microscopy. The aim of NISB is to foster collaborations by bringing together researchers from across NTU and elsewhere in Singapore to undertake research on basic biological processes and to harness this knowledge to improve human health and alleviate diseases such as cancer, metabolic and infectious diseases and old age. This knowledge will also provide a solid base for structure-based drug design. Facilitating inter- and cross- university research in structural biology through NISB will strengthen the Future Healthcare Peak of Excellence in the NTU Strategic Plan.
